On the Corelli Stage

It was a great day today with an audience to suit, We ventured out of the farm to see the first performance for Rangikawea on the Corelli Stage. We watched with excitement as he took the stage and sang “Any Dream will do”. He sounded GREAT!
Just so you know, what the Corelli Stage is, Kawea’s school (corelli school) has lunch time performances every Friday, free to the public, for their students to get used to performing on stage. They first have to do their item in their performing class (which is once a week) then if the teacher feels fit, they get to perform on the Friday concert. This is an excellent program as it gets the kids used to performing, so when it comes time to sit an exam or perform in front of an examiner, it is not as nerving.

We LOVED hearing Kawea sing today. And by the applause at the end  everyone else did too…

Go Kawea!!

Hakarimata's again!

Yes, we did it! We climbed the Hakarimata's again. Still hard, still so rewarding!!

"I'll be your best friend?!"

My baby never fails to have a “such a cutie” moment every day. I don’t know what it is about him, perhaps knowing he is the baby, or simply that he was such a good baby, that I have noticed these little moment s more.   I have to share this one with you. It has happened twice this last week. We are sitting in the car and Rakaipaka calls out and asks for something. Usually it is a lolly or chocolate or something I don’t have at that time. Anyway I call out ‘no’, and the response comes back, “Oooh, Ill be your best friend”!!! Ha How cute is that!! He is all of what 2 years old and is already trying that line on his mother!!! Now the question is posed…. Which one of his siblings did he hear that from!!!!

Flashback - Rotten teeth?

I was putting the boys to bed the other night, and as usual you go through the usual teeth toilet, bed etc... I asked Rakai, did you brush your teeth? He said no. (He was honest) So, I said, "do you want your teeth to fall out while you are asleep?" He answered with a sad look on his face, "yes, cause then I can get some money". Oh that was such a Rakai thing to say!! I had to counter that (trying not to laugh) by telling him that the tooth fairy doesn't give money for rotten teeth! Then, Hikawera pipes up saying he got $5 for a rotten (dead actually from being banged) tooth that the dentist had to pull out. I had to go into real damage control then!! Rakai comes out with the funniest things sometimes. He is golden.
