Bike for Christmas

Santa delivered a motorbike for christmas for the younger boys, Sadly after a day or two of riding it had to be returned to the elves that made it... quality control!!!! Here are some picks of them in action until the bike became "out of Action". Hikawera was really good at it once he let the nerves go, so was Rangikawea. Teancum helping his brother understand what to do. Starting the bike for his brother.... again. (pulley start)

Summer Touch

Two of our boys were part of the Summer Touch Tournament in 2011. Both played for Kaukapakapa, both did really well. Hikawera's team came first in their division whilst Kawea's team came second by one point with a nail biting finish. It is awesome to watch Kawea's team play. They were fast and onto it, so good to see kids playing so well. I was impressed!! Hikawera on Field ready to play Prize giving 1st place Hikawera's Team The Team Kawea in Action on Field Paused ready to go! Hikawera in Uniform. If it seems like I talk about sports alot your probably right. In rural areas there are a few things to keep kids busy, Sports is a big one of those, so when one tournament ends something else is just beginning!!

End of School Year

At the end of the school Year, Kaukapakapa Primary has their final presentation evening at the school. Thanks to daylight savings it is nice to be able to sit outside and watch the formalities and items. It is also a day where you get a chance to meet or at least eyeball what child belongs to who and those you have not met throughout the school year. Being 'newish' to the area this can be a good day. When we go out Hikawera LOVES to break out his Leather Jacket. He looks good in it too and it suits him to a "T". His grade sang "I want a Hippopotomus for Christmas". Such a fun catchy song. )The whole family knows it now). Nauvoo had just broken her arm a couple of days earlier but insisted that she attend the evening and sing with her class. Forgive me, I can not remember at the moment what song it was but spot my baby girl in the second row there - hint just look for the purple cast!! Rangikawea's age group sang "the Rhythm of Life"

Wow, what have we been up to!!

I finally downloaded all the photo's off my camera today and found so many stories that have not been shared. Now the task to share what I can!! I will start with Rakaipaka Birthday. My baby has turned 2 in November last year, I am sure there must be a blog on it but here are some more photo's. He has loved blowing out candles. So much so that when ever he sees a candle lit he starts singing 'Happy Birthday' and then wants to blow the candles out! Soooo cute!! Here is a picture of the birthday card his Cousins and Aunty/Uncle sent over to him - from next door - I LOVE their thoughtfullness and the personal aspect of all their cards and gifts they ever give to our family. It means more than the actual gift, and brings out their personalities... Kia Ora Whanau.
