Summer Touch

Two of our boys were part of the Summer Touch Tournament in 2011. Both played for Kaukapakapa, both did really well. Hikawera's team came first in their division whilst Kawea's team came second by one point with a nail biting finish. It is awesome to watch Kawea's team play. They were fast and onto it, so good to see kids playing so well. I was impressed!!

If it seems like I talk about sports alot your probably right. In rural areas there are a few things to keep kids busy, Sports is a big one of those, so when one tournament ends something else is just beginning!!

Yes, we did it! We climbed the Hakarimata's again. Still hard, still so rewarding!!

"I'll be your best friend?!"

My baby never fails to have a “such a cutie” moment every day. I don’t know what it is about him, perhaps knowing he is the baby, or simply that he was such a good baby, that I have noticed these little moment s more.   I have to share this one with you. It has happened twice this last week. We are sitting in the car and Rakaipaka calls out and asks for something. Usually it is a lolly or chocolate or something I don’t have at that time. Anyway I call out ‘no’, and the response comes back, “Oooh, Ill be your best friend”!!! Ha How cute is that!! He is all of what 2 years old and is already trying that line on his mother!!! Now the question is posed…. Which one of his siblings did he hear that from!!!!

Volleyball

Teancum really enjoys playing volleyball. He jumped right into the teams at boys high, and within a couple of weeks, he was in the 'A' team. They came runner up this season to a solid Hillcrest school team. An awesome group of boys.
