Our Book of Life

With all the hustle and bustle of school holidays, and going back to school, Kawea's birthday always sneaks up on us. This year he turned 11. It is a bit of a shock, he is now 11 years old - the preisthood next year.... He can't wait to go up to Young Mens. This year his class had an overnight sleepover at school, so we took a birthday cake to his class at lunchtime... mmmm yummy. They played spotlight at the school until about 9:30pm, this was the moon. Kawea's class - 29 of them Kawea blowing out candles Mmmm chocolate cake.  - and lollies. Beautiful full moon that night! Then saturday we went to Waiwera Hot pools. He took a friend with him and we swam and relaxed ALL day. WE arrived about 11am and left at 8:30. It was afantastic day of waterslides swimming and feasting. Great facilities there. The next day, the kids fell asleep on the way to church and did not wake up until after sacrament was over. A few months ago we were able to get these 2 farm motor bikes. Needless to say with a house of young men they are a favorite. Arama T especially has LOVED learning how to ride. He is getting really good at it too. 2 rules we have are Helmet and shoes. No exceptions. So, with safety rules behind us, it has been a great little past time. The little ones love having rides and it can be a great bargaining tool sometimes too (especially for Renata) T has also learnt the appreciation of PETROL - knowing that there is NOT a limitless suply.hehehe. about a week and a half ago, I finally bit the bullet and jumped on. I have wanted to learn how to ride for al long time and it is a goal of mine this year to get my motorbike liscence. Well, I did love it. After I warmed up and a few 'little' tips from my 13 year old son!!!!(lol) I was away. It did feel great to take off down the property with my darling and have a bit of a ride.
