Touch 2012/13

Touch Rugby has started for the 2012/13 season. This year there were 3 games for the kids to play starting 3:30pm on the Friday afternoon. From there we head across to another field where there is another game for Kawea, a game for Arama and then a game for Arama (dad) and I. By the time our Fridays are finished we are home about 8:30-9pm. Daylight savings makes it a lovely afternoon. While the adults play all the kids are playing around the fields, it is safe and everyone looks out for everyone elses kids. We do feel it the next morning though. Takes a while for the old body to get moving again… hehehehe.

Rakai is our little spectator!

  1. Jessica has her Touch Ruby gala day on Thursday. I loved touch football and i played it until I was 30'ish. Its like your body suddenly remembers every strain and pain and replays it on your body once you hit the 30's.
I will send the boys photos on Thursday so they can see their cousin in action.

Flashback - Rotten teeth?

I was putting the boys to bed the other night, and as usual you go through the usual teeth toilet, bed etc... I asked Rakai, did you brush your teeth? He said no. (He was honest) So, I said, "do you want your teeth to fall out while you are asleep?" He answered with a sad look on his face, "yes, cause then I can get some money". Oh that was such a Rakai thing to say!! I had to counter that (trying not to laugh) by telling him that the tooth fairy doesn't give money for rotten teeth! Then, Hikawera pipes up saying he got $5 for a rotten (dead actually from being banged) tooth that the dentist had to pull out. I had to go into real damage control then!! Rakai comes out with the funniest things sometimes. He is golden.

Volleyball

Teancum really enjoys playing volleyball. He jumped right into the teams at boys high, and within a couple of weeks, he was in the 'A' team. They came runner up this season to a solid Hillcrest school team. An awesome group of boys.

Hakarimata's again!

Yes, we did it! We climbed the Hakarimata's again. Still hard, still so rewarding!!
