Return to Virtue

In recent times, for me I have come to realize that life can be quite difficult. There are amazing days, filled with wonderful friends and happy moments, then there are days where it feels like I am sitting in a dark corner and my legs won't move to turn the light on.

Today I watched this clip. I have seen it before but it reminded me of a focus I can draw my energy to. Now even though it is a clip from my 'church' it is something that can be applied to ANYONE's life, especially, I feel, if you have children of your own or feel a little lost yourself. If anything, it can help you to become a better you...

I hope you find it as uplifting as I did today.

Have a beautiful day.

  1. I love this message and her book on the subject is high on my wish list. I certainly have days like, in fact I was having one yesterday when a letter arrived from Dan for Dad & I and it made me realise that all of those dark days are worth it when the sunshines like it did. when we read that amazingly beautiful letter of gratitude from our 19 year old son. It made it all worth while!
Hey next time you want to curl up in the corner Skype me because we are getting pro's at that now...

Flashback - Rotten teeth?

I was putting the boys to bed the other night, and as usual you go through the usual teeth toilet, bed etc... I asked Rakai, did you brush your teeth? He said no. (He was honest) So, I said, "do you want your teeth to fall out while you are asleep?" He answered with a sad look on his face, "yes, cause then I can get some money". Oh that was such a Rakai thing to say!! I had to counter that (trying not to laugh) by telling him that the tooth fairy doesn't give money for rotten teeth! Then, Hikawera pipes up saying he got $5 for a rotten (dead actually from being banged) tooth that the dentist had to pull out. I had to go into real damage control then!! Rakai comes out with the funniest things sometimes. He is golden.

Volleyball

Teancum really enjoys playing volleyball. He jumped right into the teams at boys high, and within a couple of weeks, he was in the 'A' team. They came runner up this season to a solid Hillcrest school team. An awesome group of boys.

Hakarimata's again!

Yes, we did it! We climbed the Hakarimata's again. Still hard, still so rewarding!!
