New Toys

When you hear the words new toys, I am sure there are alot of different items that come to mind. Being in a property again reminded me that there are some "toys" that are essential to maintaining a farm. We have been without some of these things since being back but good things come to those who wait.... and with a surprise from my darling he arrived back from one of our family's homes with....

A ride on mower and weed eater. Wooohoooo! now days worth of work can get done in a matter of hours.
All the family caught on to the working buzz outside. A great day. Here is Teancum using the weed eater while his dad was on the ride on.
He did a great job. So did Rakaipaka. You know how I am always telling you how much Rakai adores his big brother? Well look at what we found him doing.

He had found a little play chainsaw in the play house and started cutting the grass with it like his brother. With his own sound effects to go with it.

He was so cute...

Hikawera and Kawea were quite fun to watch too. They had to pack up the wheel barrow and trailer for the mower at the end and were more than happy to pose for the camera to show just how much they have been working....

Flashback - Rotten teeth?

I was putting the boys to bed the other night, and as usual you go through the usual teeth toilet, bed etc... I asked Rakai, did you brush your teeth? He said no. (He was honest) So, I said, "do you want your teeth to fall out while you are asleep?" He answered with a sad look on his face, "yes, cause then I can get some money". Oh that was such a Rakai thing to say!! I had to counter that (trying not to laugh) by telling him that the tooth fairy doesn't give money for rotten teeth! Then, Hikawera pipes up saying he got $5 for a rotten (dead actually from being banged) tooth that the dentist had to pull out. I had to go into real damage control then!! Rakai comes out with the funniest things sometimes. He is golden.

Volleyball

Teancum really enjoys playing volleyball. He jumped right into the teams at boys high, and within a couple of weeks, he was in the 'A' team. They came runner up this season to a solid Hillcrest school team. An awesome group of boys.

Hakarimata's again!

Yes, we did it! We climbed the Hakarimata's again. Still hard, still so rewarding!!
