Chainsaw Magic

The great thing about being on a rural farm with boys is that they get to try their hands at so many different things.

We had firewood to chop up, these long pine trees that needed to be cut into rounds then split. My big boy Arama, has fine tuned his skills at using the chainsaw. Since he is stronger than me I don't have a problem with this.

As he was cutting he called me over to show me something he had done…..

How cool is this! Don't you just love it! (not bad for a 15 year old!!)

Yes, we did it! We climbed the Hakarimata's again. Still hard, still so rewarding!!

"I'll be your best friend?!"

My baby never fails to have a “such a cutie” moment every day. I don’t know what it is about him, perhaps knowing he is the baby, or simply that he was such a good baby, that I have noticed these little moment s more.   I have to share this one with you. It has happened twice this last week. We are sitting in the car and Rakaipaka calls out and asks for something. Usually it is a lolly or chocolate or something I don’t have at that time. Anyway I call out ‘no’, and the response comes back, “Oooh, Ill be your best friend”!!! Ha How cute is that!! He is all of what 2 years old and is already trying that line on his mother!!! Now the question is posed…. Which one of his siblings did he hear that from!!!!

Volleyball

Teancum really enjoys playing volleyball. He jumped right into the teams at boys high, and within a couple of weeks, he was in the 'A' team. They came runner up this season to a solid Hillcrest school team. An awesome group of boys.
